A small pied-à-terre in the North Beach section of San Francisco. This 1980 condominium was completely renovated with considerations for client’s dust allergies, ease of maintenance and budget appropriate for a “work week only” residence. Custom lighting, herringbone cherry flooring, an elegant but practical kitchen and bar, multi-functional furnishings and locally commissioned San Francisco paintings are some of the project's most interesting features. The chosen motif is “Early to Mid 20th Century San Francisco” incorporating styles from the era that might have been found locally at the time. Various elements and colors keep the look fresh for today’s living. Most furniture pieces are “collectibles” and recycled with refurbished finishes. Photos show preparations for a San Francisco crab dinner.
